Python GUI builder similar to Visual Basic

Postby helpme » Thu Aug 01, 2013 5:33 am

Hi Python experts,

This is my first post and I am a newbie to python. I have been using Visual Basic for some time because dummies like me want to be able to build GUI easily. Is there a IDE with GUI capabilities similar to Visual Basic for Python? A GUI builder in which one can drag and drop GUI controls, double-clicked on the controls to go straight to the code ... something like Visual Basic.

Thank you.

Hello. Which GUI toolkit are you using? If you are using wxPython, then you could try wxGlade and Boa Constructor.

Good luck.

I just started with QT Designer, and it's pretty wonderful. The only thing it lacks is a simple GUI way to export your code. What's great about it though, is that you can use it with multiple languages, not just Python. Install PyQT for your version of Python and give it a go, it's worth the time.

Is the QT version opensource and 'free' ? It looks good from just reading about it.
