Get list of IP's of devices on network

Get list of IP's of devices on network

Postby mckryall » Fri May 23, 2014 7:57 pm

I'm making a brute-force ssh guessing program on Ubuntu 14.04. I can't figure out how to - even with nmap -- I can't get the flags right --- there are SO MANY --- -- - get a list of all devices + IP's on the local network.

Code: Select all
metulburr@ubuntu ~ $ nmap -sP 192.168.1.0/24

Starting Nmap 6.40 ( http://nmap.org ) at 2014-05-23 22:41 EDT
Nmap scan report for 192.168.1.1
Host is up (0.00040s latency).
Nmap scan report for 192.168.1.2
Host is up (0.00021s latency).
Nmap scan report for 192.168.1.3
Host is up (0.00029s latency).
Nmap scan report for 192.168.1.6
Host is up (0.0060s latency).
Nmap scan report for 192.168.1.7
Host is up (0.00022s latency).
Nmap scan report for 192.168.1.21
Host is up (0.077s latency).
Nmap done: 256 IP addresses (6 hosts up) scanned in 3.41 seconds
metulburr@ubuntu ~ $

and if i check with my router attached devices, i can see that is indeed true.

Thanks for providing an example. The man page has an extremely long list of flags.
