python-forum.io seems stable and ready to go. There are some features that need to be tweaked, but they are not vital to the forum running (such as the syntax highlighter). The domain info, host info, server info, and database info is accessible to ALL admins. Each admin has the ability to pay for the host, create snapshots, redirect the domain and pay for the domain, and access the server with root access if any other admin should become "absent".

if its good with everyone, did you want to post a global link explaining the situation and the link to the new forum, with the set cutoff date for this forum. What about Oct 1 as an easy number giving a couple weeks. Is that ok with everyone or is there something that needs to be done first?

@regular users (or rather anyone)
You can make an account and start poking around. Some users have already started some feature requests as well as had them added. Find some things that you may or may not like and we can possibly modify it.

Oct 1st is fine, unless we want to align to Python 2.0 birthday (Oct 16th).

In any case we can start redirecting users to the new forum.
This forum has been moved to http://python-forum.io/. See you there.

If you and the other admins/mods are confident, I'd say post an announcement on Friday that the new site is up and both sites will be monitored, but strongly encourage current and new users to use the new site, until Oct 1 (or the 16th ;-) ) at which time only the new site will be.
THIS FORUM WILL BE CLOSING OCT 1, 2016. PLEASE STOP BY AND REGISTER AT THE NEW LOCATION

Well we can always adjust the cut-off date for whatever reasons. The notice would at least inform users of the situation that are not following this thread.

I would put a global banner up, but i dont have access to it on here...im not sure anyone does..(thus the reason for the change in the first place).

Would it make sense to remove the global announcement "Forum Status Summary" ?

There are now quite a few announcements, and the discussion is linked to in the new one anyway.

Maybe also remove the other annoucement, just to make the new one that more visible

I made an account but I can't login (grr LastPass). I tried to do the password recovery but haven't gotten the email after several minutes. Is the email stuff not working?
