Pyplate Python SQLite3 CMS available for beta testing

Postby Pyplate » Mon Apr 07, 2014 4:55 pm

I've written a simple content management system called Pyplate. It's written in Python and it's powered by an SQLite3 database. Pyplate supports features like page caching, generating sitemap and rss files, SEO friendly URLs etc.

Pyplate is currently aimed at self hosted web sites, blogs, small business, and personal web sites. I've been using it myself for about a year, and I've found it easy to use and reliable.

I released the code on my new site about a week ago, and I'm looking for beta testers. Check it out at http://www.pyplate.com, and let me know what you think. It would be great to get feedback about the site and Pyplate.

I've released an update of my CMS. It's still in beta testing. I've fixed some minor bugs and improved the UI. There's now better backup management including the ability to restore backups. Cache management is now a little more fine grain, and there's a comments and sharing page in the admin area where you can add code for sharing buttons. Page caching works better in Apache.

I'm now including 2 free themes with the beta version. Check out the latest screenshots at http://www.pyplate.com/. The installation instructions are here: http://www.pyplate.com/install-pyplate.

A new version of Pyplate is available from http://www.pyplate.com/. It's still a beta version, and it includes a few bug fixes and some new features.

There's now a page in the admin area where you can export/import the database to XML files. This is useful if you want to edit fields in the database, or view its contents in a text editor.

Posts can now be saved to drafts and pre-viewed before being published. Best of all, there are 4 new themes along with the three original themes. All themes are included in the Pyplate download.

I've just released a new beta version of Pyplate. It has numerous security enhancements, and it now uses WSGI instead if CGI. I've updated the installation instructions at http://www.pyplate.com/install-pyplate.

Pyplate is now supplied with a simple Python webserver that's really easy to set up.
