python3 work with sound (metronome)

Postby portia » Mon Jul 01, 2013 10:09 pm

I have seen a few simple implementations of a metronome in python but usually did not like some things (eg. the use of Tkinter, or necessity of having /dev/dsp, etc.)
I'd like to write my own simple CLI metronome. Could you recommend what I should use for generating the tick sound? Any library that would produce/play the sound in very precise intervals. Ideally something supported in/by python3.x and alsa.
Thank you
