text editors substitutions

Postby metulburr » Tue Oct 08, 2013 3:39 am

I am having a hell of a time trying to google what these mean. Probably because i do not know the lingo. I feel stupid for not even knowing this at this point.

For example when you compile a file in c++, whatever file you compile.. the filename gets inserted into %f (i think). What are %e, %d, %p, and %f all meanings? My IDE says check the manuel, but I dont even see it in their wiki. lol

More specific, i am trying to plug the names into this command:
Code: Select all
g++ -Wall -o "%e" "%f" -lsfml-audio -lsfml-graphics -lsfml-window -lsfml-system

I am assuning %f is the filename, but i am not sure what %e is?
