Database / dictionary - export to excel sheet

Postby theRandy » Tue Oct 29, 2013 10:07 pm

Not really sure how i would go about making what i want to make so i need some pointers in the right direction.

I want to make a script to save me some time at work, what i want to do have a sort of database or dictionary that holds:

Case number - primary key
Type - Refund, Replacement, Refurbishment etc
Unit - phone, tablet, chair etc
date - self explanatory
Price - Price of unit

I want to be able to tell python to print out the total refunds for a given date range, look up a specific case number and have it print all the information above etc.
I would also like to have it export all this information to an excel sheet.
As i said i don't know where to start with this or how deep my knowledge of python would need to be to accomplish this, any help on this would be much appreciated thankyou.

Take a look at the SQLITE3 database interface. SQL can be a little daunting but you only need to use a few basic commands.
