### Unable to edit programs

I have no idea why, but when I uninstalled python 3.3.2,I can't
even edit my 2.7 programs. Does anyone know what I should do?

What do you mean you can't edit your programs? You only need a text editor to do that, it doesn't matter which version of python you're using.

### Re: Unable to edit programs

When I right clicked one of my programs, it used to say "edit with IDLE" for one of the
options. Now that option is gone, and whenever I right click and go "open with>idle" it
brings up an error message that says, "cannot find idle.pyw".

Are you using windows? If that's the case try this:

Code: Select all
C:\path\to\python.exe -m idlelib.idle

and post any errors you get.

### Re: Unable to edit programs

It seems like you are using Windows. Please search the forum for other python editors. IDLE is not recommended much.

As was stated before, you could even edit the python script with notepad, and/or run python directly via command line.

Yes, I am using windows, but I tried
this code in the command line and the
command prompt, exept I got these errors:

command line:

Code: Select all
>>> C:\path\to\python.exe -m idlelib.idle  File "<stdin>", line 1    C:\path\to\python.exe -m idlelib.idle     ^SyntaxError: invalid syntax>>>

command prompt:

Code: Select all
C:\Users\Family>C:\path\to\python.exe -m idlelib.idleThe system cannot find the path specified.C:\Users\Family>

Is Notepad++ recommended?

### Re: Unable to edit programs

Anything with "python.exe" in it goes in a windows shell, not a Python shell. The Python shell is for Python code.

Yes, sorry about this. Should've said that you needed to run that on a command prompt.
