python-copy: commandline copy with advanced features

Postby messersm2013 » Sat Oct 26, 2013 9:52 am

Hello there,

I just released the version 0.3 of my python version of POSIX cp with advanced features. Here's the sourceforge-link and some information on the project:

I would be glad, if someone would test the program and send suggestions / features requests.

Link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/python-copy/

Information:
copy is a command line tool to copy files and directories written in Python.

It behaves just like POSIX cp but has some additional options like resuming aborted copying jobs.

FEATURES:
- resume partly copied files
- exclude file patterns from copying
- semi-blocking -i option: copy will first copy everything it can and then ask for files to overwrite

my first suggestion would be to use a repo at something like github

Hi,

the repo lies at sourceforge: readonly-cloning can be done with:
Code: Select all
git clone git://git.code.sf.net/p/python-copy/code python-copy-code

or
Code: Select all
git clone http://git.code.sf.net/p/python-copy/code python-copy-code

if the git-protocol is blocked by your firewall.
