IPC with an AutoHotkey Script

Postby Person93 » Wed Jan 15, 2014 11:12 am

Hi all,

I am new to Python.

I am trying to write a script that can communicate with an AutoHotkey script in real time.

The python script will always be started first, then it will wait for AutoHotkey scripts to communicate with it.

I started looking at the multiprocessing module, but it seems to be a way to run multiple python scripts at once, not to communicate with scripts in other languages.

AutoHotkey has a simple way to send messages to other windows, so I thought that the best way to do this would be to create a hidden window.

Where can i look to find out how to do this?

Thanks.

Hi welcome to the forum.
Please read the 'new users, read this' link in my signature.

Depending on what you have AutoHotkey doing, it might be easy to just use python instead.
For automating windows take a look at the following python modules:
pywinauto - high level written using pywin32
pywin32
